Your Partner in Health

I believe that exceptional healthcare starts with exceptional communication. After more than a decade in primary care, I've learned that the best outcomes happen when patients feel truly heard, respected, and empowered in their own health decisions.

I created this practice to provide the kind of care I'd want for myself and my own family—unhurried, personalized, and always focused on treating the whole person, not just symptoms.

"The first step in caring for the patient is in caring for the patient." Dr. Francis Peabody

What is a Nurse Practitioner?

A Nurse Practitioner (NP), is an experienced Registered Nurse who obtains a Master's Degree and certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse. Nurse Practitioners may diagnose and treat illnesses, prescribe medications, and order diagnostic testing. In many states, including Illinois, NPs may practice independently without a supervising physician, after obtaining necessary credentialing.

I obtained my Bachelor's of Science in nursing from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, and worked in many settings as an RN. In 2015, I completed my Master's Degree from North Park University and am a board certified Adult-Gerontology NP.

Bilingual Care: English & Spanish

Decades of working in diverse communities has taught me the importance of language access in healthcare. When patients can communicate in their native language, they share more complete information, ask more questions, and ultimately receive better care.

I'm fluent in both English and Spanish, which means no information gets lost in translation through interpreters. Whether you're more comfortable discussing your health in English or Spanish, you'll receive the same high-quality, personalized care.

My Approach to Care

I believe healthcare should be:

Collaborative - You know your body and your life better than anyone. I see my role as your partner and advisor, not someone who simply tells you what to do. Together, we'll create care plans that work for your unique circumstances, preferences, and goals.

Comprehensive - Physical health doesn't exist in isolation. I consider how stress, sleep, nutrition, exercise, relationships, and mental health all impact your overall wellbeing. We'll address all aspects of your health, not just the immediate concern that brought you in.

Preventive - The best treatment is prevention. I'm passionate about helping patients stay healthy through regular screenings, lifestyle counseling, and early intervention before small issues become big problems.

Accessible - Healthcare shouldn't be complicated or intimidating. I explain things in plain language, encourage questions, and make sure you leave every appointment understanding your health and next steps. And when you need me between appointments, I'm here—whether through our patient portal, phone, or a quick follow-up visit.

Respectful - Every patient deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and cultural sensitivity. I'm committed to providing inclusive, affirming care to all patients regardless of background, identity, or circumstances.

Why Oak Park?

Choosing Oak Park for my practice was an easy decision. This community's diversity, engagement, and genuine neighborly spirit make it exactly the kind of place where I wanted to plant roots both professionally and personally.

Oak Park residents care about their health, value quality healthcare, and deserve a provider who's invested in the community beyond just the exam room. You'll often find me at the Oak Park Farmers Market, supporting local businesses on Madison Street, and participating in community events. I believe in being a true neighbor, not just a healthcare provider passing through.
